Digital Analytics and Optimization

My original objective was very vague and I originally thought of being able to learn about how to read graphs and charts from data in this class. I wasn’t that far off per se. This class, Digital Analytics and Optimization, has been extremely helpful. I am really glad that the Google Analytics Certification was offered up because sometime finding these certifications through Google are very complicated.

Being able to read the web analytics data is so important to the success of the company. Being unable to read this will not make a big impact on marketing success that a company would want. Or, misreading data could be detrimental. With an experienced and or qualified employee, web analytics is amazing. Tools such as Google Analytics allows a marketer to see how many users are on the website, where they’re from, how long they stay on the site, where they exited. There are many more examples I could’ve given but that would take too long. Knowing these things give marketers a better idea on how to fix issues on the website or what engages on social media and blogs. All these lead to increasing traffic and sales.

The issue of using paid versus unpaid analytics tools is a tough problem. Unpaid allows you to save money but then you also need to hire someone who is well versed in the subject. More expenses. Unpaid tools are also usually more complicated to use, such as Google Analytics. Paid tools are easier to use and you may not need an employee who is as well versed. However, you’re paying for it right? These decisions should be carefully considered when choosing which web analytics tool you will want to use.
